  • An international student is anyone who has citizenship in a country other than the United States and requires a visa to study here.

  • Apply at least 60 days before the semester you plan to start. This ensures enough time for acceptance and registration processing.

  • You must prove you have adequate funding for your first year of study, including tuition, fees, books, housing, health insurance, and living expenses. You can show funding through scholarships, fellowships, family support, or personal funds.

    Bank statements must be on official bank letterhead and include: the bank's address and phone number, a bank official's signature, how long the account has existed, current balance and 6-month average balance, and the type of currency. Bank statements cannot be older than 6 months.

    Stock market investments are not accepted due to potential value fluctuations.

  • Yes, if English is not your native language, you must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) to begin Full-Time studies.

    Master's level students need a minimum score of 71, and Doctoral level students need a minimum score of 79. Scores must be less than 2 years old.

    Test results must be sent directly to the school. The school code is 6527. Students who have earned an MA are exempt from these tests.

  • Yes, if you completed 4 years of undergraduate study at a U.S. institution, you should submit MAT scores instead of TOEFL.

  • The school must admit the prospective F-1 student for a full course of study before it can issue a Form I-20 (I-20). An I-20 is essential to apply for a visa, not the F-1 student visa itself. The I-20 leads to an entrance admission provided by educational institutions, granted by the U. S. government.

  • Yes, in order to transfer in to OST, you must inform your Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) or Designated School Official (DSO) at your current school of your intention to transfer to OST, and obtain a new Form I-20 from OST’s Office of Admission/Registrar’s Office once accepted.

  • You must provide copies of your current passport, U.S. visa, and any documents issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

  • During your first year, you may complete some assignments and exams in Spanish (or another language) when the instructor is able to accommodate this. Nearly all full-time faculty members read and/or write Spanish.
